Type-to-highlight

  • Ctrl+A selects the matches only, a file you only moved to with the arrow keys is left out when you type a name and press Ctrl+A, in Thumbs, Gallery and Details.
  • Matches add up, typing another name and pressing Ctrl+A again adds its matches to the ones you already selected.

Keyboard selection

  • Lighter look, a file you only moved to with the arrow keys is drawn lighter than files you selected yourself.
  • Insert keeps the file, Insert and Ctrl+Space on that file select it instead of deselecting it.

Updating

  • Update from any folder, when Cadri Commander is already installed, double-clicking a newer version offers the update wherever that file is, not only in Downloads or on the desktop.
  • Asked on double-click only, the offer to install or update appears when you start a newer download by double-clicking it, and not when it is started with parameters, such as from a script or on a folder.

Viewers

  • Thumbstrip, the Thumbstrip button in a viewer window, or Shift+F11, shows the files around the one you are viewing along the bottom, and a click opens that file.
  • Resizable thumbnails, drag the top edge of the thumbstrip to make it and its thumbnails taller, and double-click the edge to reset it.

Spreadsheets

  • Sheet tabs, an Excel or OpenDocument workbook shows every sheet as a tab along the bottom with its number of rows and columns, and Ctrl+PgUp and Ctrl+PgDn switch sheets.
  • Opens on the saved sheet, a workbook opens on the sheet it was saved on, and sheets hidden in the workbook are shown greyed.
  • Column letters and row numbers, a workbook shows column letters and its own row numbers, so a cell is where Excel says it is, and CSV files show row numbers too.
  • Column widths, columns open sized to fit most of their content, and empty columns are narrow.
  • Hide and show columns, right-click a column header to hide that column, show a hidden one or show all, and columns hidden in the workbook start hidden.
  • Find count, Find shows how many cells match and which match you are on, and highlights every matching cell.
  • F3 for next, F3 or Enter goes to the next match, and Shift+F3 or Shift+Enter to the previous one.
  • Selection totals, selecting several cells shows their count, sum and average along the bottom.
  • Go to a cell, in a workbook the Row box also takes a cell such as T12.
  • Dates and percentages, a workbook's dates, times, percentages and fixed decimals are shown as such instead of as raw numbers.
  • Formulas, selecting a cell that holds a formula shows the formula along the bottom.
  • Frozen rows and columns, rows and columns frozen in a workbook stay in place while you scroll, filter and sort, and the cell menu freezes or unfreezes them.
  • Find in every sheet, Find counts the matches on every sheet, shows the count on each tab, and F3 continues into the next sheet.
  • Sort by a column, click a column header to sort ascending, again for descending, and once more for the file's own order.
  • Whole cell on hover, resting the pointer on a cell that is cut off or holds several lines shows all of it.
  • Copy as Markdown or CSV, the cell menu copies the selected cells as a Markdown table or as CSV.
  • Arrow keys move between cells, Left and Right move between cells, and Ctrl+Left and Ctrl+Right go to the previous and next file.

Editing CSV files

  • Edit a cell, press F2 or double-click a cell in a CSV or TSV file to change it, and Ctrl+S saves.
  • Only your change is written, the quoting, spacing and line endings of every cell you did not touch are kept exactly as they were.
  • Undo and redo, Ctrl+Z and Ctrl+Y undo and redo cell edits, also after saving.
  • Paste and clear, Ctrl+V pastes a block of cells from a spreadsheet, Delete clears the selected cells, and Ctrl+X cuts them.
  • Rows, the cell menu inserts a row above or below, duplicates the selected rows and deletes them.
  • Rename a column, right-click a column header and choose Rename column.
  • Replace, Ctrl+H replaces text in the current column, the selected cells or every column, and one Ctrl+Z takes it all back.
  • Cells with several lines, a cell that holds line breaks opens in a text area when you edit it.
  • Unsaved edits are protected, edited cells are highlighted, going to another file waits until you save or undo them, and closing the window asks first.

Editing subtitles

  • Edit a cue, press F2 or double-click a cue in an SRT, VTT or SBV file to change its text, or double-click a time to change that, and Ctrl+S saves.
  • Shift times, Shift times… moves the selected cues, or all of them, earlier or later by a number of seconds.
  • Only your change is written, the numbering, styling tags, blank lines and cue settings you did not touch are kept exactly as they were.
  • Undo and redo, Ctrl+Z and Ctrl+Y undo and redo cue edits, also after saving.

Viewers and typing

  • Delete while typing, pressing Delete while typing in the SQL box of the database viewer, or in a copyable field of the torrent viewer, no longer sends the file to the recycle bin.
  • Status line, each viewer window's status line is along the bottom of the window, where it is always visible.
  • Arrow keys in query results, Left and Right move between cells in the database viewer's results.

Numbers

  • Decimal commas, numbers written with a decimal comma are sorted and summed correctly whatever the regional format of Windows.
  • Sorting extracted values, sorting the file list by an extracted value orders numbers by value, so 9 comes before 1000.

Dark mode

  • Follows Windows, with the System theme, switching Windows between light and dark changes every open window at once.
  • Grid headers, the column and row headers of the spreadsheet and database viewers are dark in dark mode.

PDF

  • Password-protected PDFs, a PDF that needs a password asks for it when you open it, and asks again if the password was wrong.
  • Unlocked until you close, a PDF you have unlocked also opens in Quick view, the page sidebar and printing without asking again until you close Cadri Commander.

Extracted data

  • Extracted data table, Menu, Tools, Extracted data shows the extracted entities of the files in the pane as one table, with a row for each file and a column for each kind.
  • Selected files only, select two or more files first to show only those, and Enter on a row shows that file in the pane.
  • Sort by a column, click a column header to sort, and amounts sort as numbers.
  • Export and copy, Export CSV saves the table, or the rows you selected, for a spreadsheet, and Copy puts them on the clipboard.

Attributes and dates

  • Attributes and dates, right-click files or folders and choose Attributes and dates to change Read-only, Hidden, Archive and System and the modified, created and accessed dates.
  • Only what you change, everything you leave untouched stays as each file has it, and a folder can include everything inside it.
